A curious thing.
I designed this wall lamp, titled the "Double Cube" in 1994. It featured our proprietary, swirling shade material in a cube style- which by the way, was unheard of back then.
It was wildly popular for contract/commercial spaces- restaurants, hotels, spas, etc. But like all style and fashion, it had it's "run" and was over by 2000.
So here the lamp languished on my website, buried deep in the 'Wall Lamp' section, never to re-live it's 1990's glory days. That's how style goes.
But the last month has seen numerous contract purchases of this design - and from different specifiers in the West and North East.
Also, the standard size shown here (8"x19") is being custom ordered for considerably larger sizes.
Well, what exactly is going on here?
Why would a lamp design become so popular 15 years later? Is it a "retro" thing? Who knows? (It's actually a nice looking design and casts a very dramatic light through the shades with the ever-practical, up-and-down wall washing light of the bulbs.)
Our company's added advantage- Since I don't sell "out of the box" lamps and make everything to order- nothing is ever out of stock.
Customizable in any imaginable way.
Solid Maple. Moire Polycarbonate. Metallic Hand Stitching. Steel. Suitable for damp locations.
